MARGARET HOWELL X SOLOVAIR

Why are monkey boots called monkey boots?  Simply because you can climb anything in them. The iconic Monkey Boot , originally made by Grafters were donned by the mods in the mid to late sixties and then by the skinheads and punks, but they became  the most popular footwear of choice in the eighties. That said, the history of the Monkey Boot goes back even further: they were the standard issue of the Czechoslovakian army boot of WW2; light, durable and in-expensive.

Solovair continues to produce the Monkey Boot and for AW14 produced one for Margaret Howell’s diffusion line MHL. Crafted in smooth, matt leather with a treaded rubber sole. .
